It
was another day of glory for Masters Energy Oil & Gas
Limited, a major player in the downstream sector, when on
Friday last week the company was conferred with the National
Daily Awards 2009 of “The Most Improved Company of
the Year.”
Masters Energy won the
award from a pool of other nominated companies because of
the commissioning of its ultra modern integrated oil &
gas logistics centre in Port Harcourt last year. The Masters
Energy Centre has been widely acclaimed as the biggest singular
entrepreneurial effort in the downstream because of its
massiveness and state of the art equipment.
The managing director
of Masters Energy, Vincent Ajala expressed happiness at
winning the award. He said, “This award means so much
to us because it is a testimony that people appreciate the
efforts and rigours we went through to put up Energy City.”
He went further to assure Nigerians that when Masters Energy
City is fully developed, “there is no petroleum related
service or product one will not get at the centre. The Masters
Energy City is designed to be a one shop energy solution
centre.”

Also commenting on the award, head,
corporate communications, Masters Energy, Emma. Iheanacho,
said that the award category could not have gone to any
other company in view of what Masters Energy has put in
Port Harcourt. According to him, “I really think
that the organisers of this award did their homework very
well. We know what we have on ground at Masters Energy
City and the vision of the company in putting up that
Energy City. You only need to visit the place and then
knew that there could be no better winner of that award
category than Masters Energy.”
He expressed gratitude to National
Daily for recognising the effort of the company and the
honour done to them. He said, “It is not easy getting
nominated in this highly competitive category not to talk
of winning it. So when we received their letter inviting
us to the award ceremony to receive the award, we were
all glad for it.”
