The Quarterly Town Hall Meeting of Masters Energy with the theme “Breaking New Frontiers” recently held in the company’s Head Office in Lagos. The meeting which was attended by over 50 participants drawn from all Masters Energy’s offices nationwide provided a platform for exchange of ideas, knowledge and information on the company’s business.

The Vice-Chairman and Managing Director of the Company, Mr. V. U. K. Ajala in his opening speech reminded the participants of the expectations of the company from them. He alluded to many transformations and going on in the company, and pointed out that our staff is our greatest asset in our quest for growth. He said “Masters Energy is growing with speed and needs people who are alert to their duties to keep up the pace.” He asked the staff to see themselves “as the people who will bring in the new orders and manage the transformations going on in the company.” He concluded by informing the participants that the theme of the meeting was chosen to properly reflect our business focus. 

The President, Masters Energy Group, Mr. Uche Ogah, in his address welcomed the participants and thanked God for His mercy in the affairs of the company. He informed the participants that not minding the daunting challenges that faced the company, God in His infinite mercy saw us through. He reminded the participants that the essence of the meeting was “for us to discuss and strategize on how to grow the company. As you are aware, the company is growing speedily and, therefore we need to come together and evaluate what we have done and think of better ways of doing our business speedily and efficiently; realizing that time is of utmost essence in our business.”  He also informed that Masters Energy “is expanding its business frontiers and hope that before the year runs out, we would have achieved most of our business goals for the year to the glory of God.” 

While paying tribute to the staff of the company for their loyalty and contributions to the success so far recorded, he challenged them to improve on their entrepreneurship spirit in their transactions on behalf of the company.” According to him, “there is no doubt that we have performed creditably but I want to tell you that we can achieve more if we improve on our entrepreneurship spirit in the discharge of our duties. It is this spirit that will galvanize us to go the extra mile to achieve organizational goals; it is this spirit that we will constantly remind us that we have not achieved our targets for every transaction; it is this entrepreneurship spirit that will make us not to delay any work that comes to our table knowing the essence of time in the conduct of business. It is this spirit that will make us bond together as a team that will produce tangible results that are measurable.”

The meeting also provided opportunity for lectures on management and leadership. The General Manager, Destiny Marine & Shipping, Mr. Gabriel Nwanze spoke on the topic “The Effective Manager” while the company secretary/Legal Adviser, Mrs. Patience Dappa lectured on the topic “Leading with a Difference.” In line with the company’s concern for the health of its staff, a Health Management Organization, PHB Healthcare Limited, gave an elaborate talk on “Managing Stress at Work.”
The quarterly town hall meeting is a strategic business session of Masters Energy, where staff from different locations of the company come together to brainstorm and appraise business strategies and goals.
