Masters
Energy Tank Farm at Port Harcourt has continued to receive
attention and endorsement for its massive size and facilities.
The latest commendation came from Rivers State Government
through its Commissioner for Energy and Natural Resources,
Dr. Dawari George.
Dr. Dawari George made the commendation
recently when he paid an inspection visit to the tank farm
at Masters Energy City, Rumuolumeni, Port Harcourt.
Speaking with newsmen
after the inspection of the facility, Dr. George said that
he was highly impressed with what he saw on ground. According
to him, “There is no doubt whatsoever that Masters
Energy tank farm can compete with any of its kind anywhere
in the world. The size and facilities at the tank farm are
so mind blowing that government does not have any choice
than to support the facility to achieve its objective.”
He said that the Rivers
State government is interested in the tank farm and that
was why he visited to inspect the facilities and extent
of work done. And from what he has seen, the tank farm is
to serve as a strategic reserve site for oil products, because
of its size and quality facilities especially when its refinery
project comes on stream in Ndoni, Ogba/Egbe/Ndoni Local
Government Area.
The commissioner further
said, “The state will have to take more than a passing
interesting in what will be going on at Maters Energy. It
is a huge investment that will have impact on the economy
of the state and also oil the wheel of progress of its people
as it will provide employment, directly and indirectly to
the people.”

He assured the management of Masters
Energy that “Rivers State Government is very happy
and proud of them and will do everything possible to encourage
them and ensure that the benefits of locating such massive
structure in the state are not lost.”
Speaking on the state government’s
refinery project at Ndoni, the commissioner said that
it is the key consideration of Rt. Hon. Rotimi Chibuike
Amaechi’s administration to ensure that petroleum
products are easily available to the people of the state
at very affordable price. “And that is why the state
government will be partnering with Masters Energy to use
the tank farm as a strategic depot to fast track the pace
of distribution of petroleum products to the end users
when the refinery is completed,” he said.
Earlier while welcoming the commissioner,
the General Manager, South-South, Mr. Collins Onyemelukwe
thanked state government for her interest in the tank
farm and informed him that the tank farm has more than
enough capacity to serve the needs of the state government.
He however called attention of the state government to
the poor state of public infrastructure such as roads,
electricity and insecurity on the waterways, through which
large Vessels were to bring products, had been very worrisome
to the management.
